Seiser Alm Urthaler hotel is sheer nature. Built with pure biological, chemical-free and radiation-safe materials with wood from a special lunar phase. The walls are of wood and glass, the floors of wood or natural stone, the carpets are hand-made. Healthy, allergy-free and unique in Europe.
In 2002 the architects, Silvano Tacus and Franco Didoné as well as the designer Stefan Moravetz created a ground-breaking example of modern architecture and a sustainable method of building. The Austrian company, Erwin Thoma, using an age-old method for re-using wood, realised this large-scale project with a glue-free wood construction, the Holz 100 method of building. In this way vertical and horizontal layers of wood are laminated into components without any gaps. Touch-dry wooden dowels penetrate the layers of these components. The dowels absorb the residual humidity and swell up into the wood. In this way the individual parts develop into a solid unit. 5,300 m² of the Seiser Alm Urthaler consist of these components.
Exclusive materials, new clear forms as well as the extraordinary concept of lighting of Ingo Maurer shape the unmistakable style of the hotel. Nothing has been left to chance. Rooms full of light, style and elegance. The rooms are made almost completely of wood, the baths of steel, glass and natural stone. A wooden wall covered with clay hides the heating element and creates a pleasant room temperature.
A continuous line that takes up a clear position also in the “Antermoia” - beauty, sport & bath. In 700 m² and on two floors we open a world of relaxation and beauty to our guests. A wide range of massages, beauty baths and cosmetic treatments, a large swimming pool with panoramic views and an outdoor pool of unusual design, Finnish sauna, steam baths with various aromas and rest rooms are just a small part of the variety we have to offer. Our alpine garden, with its ponds, meadows and idyllic peninsulas and where you can meditate, also fascinates.
But the Seiser Alm Urthaler has still more to offer. The restaurant "Jägerstube" offers our guests a wide range of excellent regional and international dishes, or our well-stocked wine cellar, Ciulè, where guests can discover one or the other rare wine. The exclusively elegant onyx bar with its fireplace is the ideal spot to end the day.
